Property Area Focus: Brackenridge Estate
Brackenridge Estate remains to be one of Plett’s most sought after eco-estates and is conveniently located on the border of the Plett Country Club, very close to shopping facilities and all our glorious beaches. The 128-hectare nature reserve is home to the country’s legendary fynbos which attracts an abundance of bird and small animal life. There are in total 280 erven of approximately 1 500 m² in size each. All landscaping is based on indigenous gardening which complements the “two-third nature reserve” principle. Brackenridge estate is extremely water wise having a its own water supply in the form of a large high-yielding borehole and a number of rain-water tanks. A good filtration system ensures an abundance of potable water for the estate. Homes enjoy scenic views, with many of those higher up having sea views.
The estate has recently introduced off-road cycling tracks for the sporty and has extended the walking trails throughout the estate for those enjoying nature trails in a safe environment.
Brackenridge Estate is a gated, access controlled, extremely secure estate with a 100% incident free record for the past 3 years ago. The night patrol guards have new trackers and panic buttons which have been working very effectively.
Strict architectural guidelines apply, ensuring an indigenous paradise with homes of a high standard, enhancing this estate’s growing image.
Pets are most welcome in Brackenridge and the estate follows the standard by-law of two pets per home.
There is a total of eight new houses being built this year so far. There only 69 plots left that are vacant, which is only about a quarter of the estate. The number of plots left undeveloped by area within the estate are as follows: Orchid Valley: 3, Watsonia Heights: 12, Bitou Glade: 15, and Erica Heath: 39. The buyer demand for gated estates is high and the stock is decreasing. There are about 20 stands available for sale, which is a big decline from previous years.
To date from 1 January 2019 there are six registered sales of which five have been from the Sotheby’s International Realty Plett office. Sotheby’s International Realty is currently marketing the most expensive house in Brackenridge, along with a good spread of differently priced properties. Plots available range from R350,000 to R1,950,000; and houses from R4,25million to R19,8million.
We never hesitate to recommend Brackenridge Estate as a safe and secure investment!
