Plettenberg Bay Ratepayers and Residents Association (PBRRA)
Over the past five years and particularly since Covid-19, we have welcomed many people who have semi-grated to Plett in search of a better quality lifestyle. This has resulted in a booming property market and rapid growth in the number of residents. While the growth is welcome and positive, it has put significant pressure on existing services and aging infrastructure.
The PBRRA is apolitical and they are mandated by the ratepayers and residents to advocate for good governance, sustainability and accountability within the Bitou Council. They provide oversight, commentary and support in areas such as municipal services and infrastructure, spatial development, crime and corruption and financial sustainability.
Many towns and cities in SA provide vivid case studies of decline and the risks of complacency versus the benefits of an active ratepayer community. Our coordinated efforts will help to ensure that our town is well governed, operates efficiently and serves the needs of its stakeholders now and into the future.
